How to check iPhone’s Country of Origin [Updated 2024]

Apple develops and designs all its products in California. Apple’s main assembler of iPhones is Foxconn which is mainly based in China. Hence “Designed by Apple in California, Assembeled in China”. Apple outsources the manufacturing of various parts across the entire world.

The country code could be the last one or two letters before the “/” in the part number. For example, the Japan iPhone 12 Pro 256 GB Silver has the model number A2406 and Part Number MGMA3J/A. And its country code is “J“.

  1. I came across this article while searching for an Apple Watch. I was able to identify the country of origin from the SKU number on the box.
    This is true for all Apple Devices and not just iPhones

    What country does this belong to? Seller told me it’s Poland.

    1. Hi, This model is being sold in central europe in many different countries like Lithuania, Slovakia, Hungary etc. I’ll keep this blog updated once I receive some more information, Thanks for asking this question, will def help a lot of people
